Stewart B. Barmen:
Mr. Barmen is an experienced family law attorney, with his primary areas of
practice in divorce, alimony, mediation, prenuptial agreements, and related
matters.
Mr. Freed received his Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State
University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School Of
Law. He was admitted to the bar in 1971. His areas of practice are: Business Real Estate,
Zoning and Employment Law.
Mrs. Begler was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She
received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh and her
Juris Doctor from Duquesne University. She was admitted to the bar in
1975. Her areas of practice are: Family Law and Mediation Alternative
Dispute Resolution.
Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Mr. Barmen now maintains his private
practice for individual clients as well as serving Of Counsel to the law
firm.
Mr. Barmen is a former shareholder in the firm
of Buchanan Ingersoll. He was also a fellow of the American Academy of
Matrimonial Lawyers and has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America and
Who’s Who in American Law. In addition, he has lectured extensively for the
Pennsylvania Bar Institute and has authored a variety of scholarly articles.
Mr. Barmen currently serves as a board member for the Propel Charter
Schools, the Fallingwater Advisory Committee, and the West Penn Hospital
Foundation.
Mary Bower Sheats:
Mrs. Sheats is an experienced attorney in the areas of Bankruptcy;
Commercial Law; Family Law; and Trial Practice. br>
Mrs. Sheats was born in New York, N.Y. and holds her own private practice and is Of Counsel with our
firm. Mrs. Sheats holds her J.D. from; Duquesne University and
was Phi Alpha Delta. Mrs. Sheats was admitted to the Pennsylvania U.S.
District Court, Western District of Pennsylvania; U.S. Court of Appeals;
Third Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court in 1978. Mrs. Sheats is a
member of Allegheny County (Member, Sections on: Commercial Law, Bankruptcy,
Family and Civil Litigation) and Pennsylvania Bar Association; Women's Bar
Association of Western Pennsylvania.
